
In 1863 at the battle of Rangiriri over 180 Maori defenders were taken prisoner, they were held captive on the prison ship Marion on the Waitemata Harbour, where Titus Angus White was their supervisor. This book is their story, and the history of the invasion of Waikato, that led to the establishment of New Zealand's largest ever floating prison.
